VA - My City of Sydney (A Butterboy Compilation) CD1+CD2+CD3

Sydney is the capital city of the state of New South Wales, and the most populous city in both Australia and Oceania.  Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Sydney Harbour and extends about 70 km (43.5 mi) towards the Blue Mountains to the west, Hawkesbury to the north, the Royal National Park to the south and Macarthur to the south-west. Sydney is made up of 658 suburbs, spread across 33 local government areas. Residents of the city are known as "Sydneysiders". The 2021 census recorded the population of Greater Sydney as 5,231,150, meaning the city is home to approximately 66% of the state's population. Nicknames of the city include the 'Emerald City' and the 'Harbour City'.

Aboriginal Australians have inhabited the Greater Sydney region for at least 30,000 years, and Aboriginal engravings and cultural sites are common throughout Greater Sydney. The traditional custodians of the land on which modern Sydney stands are the clans of the Darug, Dharawal and Eora peoples. (Wikipedia)

Sydney is vibrant city known for its yacht-studded harbour, superb beaches, and the iconic Opera House with its towering sail structure. Together with the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Sydney’s most iconic images. Once a British colony of exiled convicts, Sydney has grown into Australia's most diverse and cosmopolitan city with an exciting food, arts and entertainment scene. The view, the people, the nightlife and the landmarks have all been sources of musical inspiration across Australia.

This compilation explores the songs of Sydney. Sydney has produced some of the best music to have ever come from Australia. Presented here are 78 tracks from Cold Chisel classics to the unlikely anthem of infidelity penned by Johnny Cash and June Carter all written about Sydney. Enjoy!

  6. Hello. I had seen the Australian music compilations plus the Triple J comps and the excellent collections of the wonderful Paul Kelly and this comp must confirm you live in Sydney. I first heard Paul Kelly after we arrived in Wellington NZ in 1987, buying the 'To her door' single which was swiftly replaced by the Under the Sun album. Once again, thanks for all these excellent compilations.
