SUZI QUATRO

Suzi Quatro - The Girl From Detroit City [2014] (4 x CD's)

This beautifully packaged 4-CD, 82 track career retrospective housed in a deluxe hard back book style package complete with 54 page booklet, attempts to set the record straight covering everything from her first step at the age of 14 in 1965 with ‘What A Way To Die’ by The Pleasure Seekers (an all-female band formed with her sister Patti), to an unreleased cover version of The Eagles’ ‘Desperado’ featuring Jeff Beck recorded in 2005.

The first ever career-spanning anthology from the Queen of Rock N Roll as she celebrates 50 years in the music industry. Contains 82 tracks on four CD's.  Each track has a note by Suzi and '70s expert Phil Hendricks whilst former editor of the History of Rock Michael Heatley has supplied a 20,000 word overview of Suzi's illustrious and ground breaking career. Booklet is heavily illustrated with memorabilia and clippings from Suzi's personal archive plus picture sleeves from around the globe. Completely re-mastered, Suzi has never looked or sounded so good! Includes all of Suzi's world-wide hit singles along with all the hits there are classic album tracks, B-sides and rare European only singles plus 20 previously unreleased tracks. (Amazon)

Suzi Quatro The Girl From Detroit City is an excellent compilation of Suzi Quatro’s fine work. If you were looking for only one Suzi Quatro compilation I would strongly suggest this for its diversion and variations in the solo musical career of ground-breaking Suzi.

  1. Butter, I don't know where to drop this note, so I'm putting it here. As I explained across the street at TZ, I'm going to be away for a while: my mother passed away in her sleep early this morning. My brother and I had kept her company all night.

I don't know that you're the praying type; but if so, please lift some up for her and her family. And if you're not, please give a long, warm hug to someone you love, *today*, and tell them why... while you and they are able. It'll be a treasure to carry around later, for both of you.

    Warmest to you and all,
    A. Gene Childe

    1. My condolences and prayers to a fellow music lover. I too lost someone close recently. Loss hurts, deep. Recover well, let some music soothe the pain.
      Peace.

    2. Dear A. Gene Childe,
Sorry to hear of your loss of your mother. My thoughts are with you and your family. A Mother is so important influence in life and it really hurts to see them go even though we know its inevitable. Be assured I will share a hug with someone and tell them why. My thoughts are with you. Life is precious and we should remember and respect that. I hope to see you in the future when you feel it is time for you. I know loss and there is no time-frame for loss and grief. Stay strong my friend. Remember all the good things....Peace.
