VA - Sixties Summer Love [1999] (2 x CD's)

SIXTIES AGAIN...

VA - Sixties Summer Love [1999] (2 x CD's)

Of course, there have been many double CD's of sixties hits released over the years. Some tracks are included more often than others and which ones appeal most will often depend on how many of your personal favorites are included, or how many songs you are missing from your own collection. However, this is undoubtedly a very strong compilation which I find extremely enjoyable listening.   Of course, look at the tracklisting and you can make up your own mind. Thinking out loud though, to have a compilation that mixes pop, soul, rock 'n' roll and Latin classics from both sides of the Atlantic - and really the best of this music from the era - is a real treat. 1. Great compilation of sixties love songs. Not exactly the choices I would have made, but that's what makes these comps so fun. For me, any sixties love album has to include The Association, especially a song like Standing Still. Even though the big hit on that album was Cherish (another great sixties love song). I'd be interested in hearing from you and others what their favorite non-hit sixties love song is.

    1. Hi Pol,
There are so many great 60's compilations and all have some great tracks to offer. It is so hard to do a 60's compilation and not disappoint someone. Still all great music.

      Cheers.

    2. I agree with you. I love all of them. Including this one. I'm most interested in what other people choose. This one has some gems I wouldn't have thought of and that's great! Not a disappointment for me!

  3. What counts is not the period. 50's, British beat, Psychedelic, Prog...Jazz or Blues. Miles Davis said it himself, it's the quality of the songs and the music. I don't give a fuck about the attitude to adopt for the circumstance!
Here there is nothing to throw away in these two Cd's. Thanks BB
