K's Greatest Country Songs SPECIAL VA - The Greatest Country Songs of All Time, 130 Definitive Classics (Super Deluxe Edition) [2022] (5 x CD's)

K's Greatest Country Songs SPECIAL

Following on from Thursday's K-tel Country albums set, this new set offers a wealth of country songs that  are considered some of the best.

VA - The Greatest Country Songs of All Time, 130 Definitive Classics (Super Deluxe Edition)  [2022] (5 x CD's)

The latest in my 'greatest' compilation series and a follow up to the K-tells 'Take Me Home, 'Country' Roads' recent post.

Following months of extensive research reading through critics and experts polls from the likes of Rolling Stone, NME, Time Out, CMT, SiriusXM,and many many others, plus fan polls, country music blogs, online discussion forums votes (Steve Hoffman), Wikipedia info, Billboard Country Charts, my own recollections and favourites, I have finally settled upon my 130 Greatest Country Songs of All Time compilation. These are the songs which feature most on the many many lists of the best and greatest original classic country songs ever made: critics lists, fan lists, online discussion forums, radio and TV countdowns, etc.

There has never been a really good official country music compilation with a thorough overview and cross section from its humble beginnings to the present day, and like my previous 'greatest' collections, my goal was to include the very very best of the genre, the cream of the crop, and to add a number of hard to find and often rare tracks you just never see on compilations due to licensing restrictions, music rights issues, etc.

ALL tracks are the 100% original versions, NO later re-recordings, 'live in concert', or ‘stereo enhanced’ versions - only the original 7” 45 and 10" 78 single mixes, with many in their original mono form.

Time to get these tunes a rollin'!

Hope you enjoy my selections.
