VA -Sounds Like the Rolling Stones (A Butterboy Compilation) CD1+CD2+CD3

How many times have you heard a song and felt it sounds like another band you know. I know I have many times.  Sometimes its the voice, sometimes its the music, sometimes a track seems the same but at a slower or faster tempo. Whatever the reasons for those mindflips, it is because it sounds unmistakably similar to another artists' work. So here are 60 tracks that will cause confusion at times but all-in-all are still great to listen to.  Apart from the Beatles soundalikes the Rolling Stones are also well represented when it comes to bands who sound like them. See if you believe the artist playing are deliberately channeling the Rolling Stones or not. Enjoy!

  1. Hi Butterboy,
Certainly, the title has quickly caught my attention. I have listened to almost the entire compilation with special interest and the truth is that many of the songs are reminiscent of the Rolling Stones. In some cases, if we stop the song after a few seconds and before they start to sing, we would say that they are the ones who are playing.
Thank you for continually innovating with new proposals. Your comps always add interesting things.
    Cheers

  2. As a kid, I went for YEARS thinking that Lee Michaels' "Do You Know What I Mean" was the Stones.

  7. Just discovered your website. LOVE IT! I was just thinking of making my own compilation or Rolling Stones sounding songs and found this. Had many I was thinking of already. And some I hadn't considered. I would have picked I Ain't No Miracle Worker instead of Gone and Passes by for instance, but your choice is solid! I am about to peruse the rest of these comps at my leisure this week. Thank you! Ever need something, let me know

  8. Can't wait to hear this... and can't resist offering a few of mine: Graham Parker's "Soul Shoes" (especially the live version), Supergrass's "Pumping on Your Stereo", and the Stones tribute band that took a stab at an original album, the Blushing Brides with "What You Talkin' About?": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6ZfywoN83E
